Types of Essays
In high school, students are taught to write essays. The majority of students are required to write one at the close of the school year and also. Narrative essays, on other on the other hand, are written as an oral account of some experience that the writer has had. They are also referred to as personal essays. The essayist tells the story of something they have experienced. However it isn’t the sole purpose of a narrative essay. Narrative essays can be private or written by the author. It can be told by a different person, similar to an autobiography. Both types of essays require a good argument and the ability follow a logical order. An argumentative essay (or debate essay) is a means to express an opinion or arguement on an issue while staying in line with the arguments that are in the other. This consistency can help strengthen arguments made by the author. Many professors require students to write strong and home essay weak arguments. Argumentative essays typically include all the facts in the essay, along with any supporting evidence to strengthen the arguments of the essay.
Textual analysis essays frequently ask the reader to analyze an entire text or a sentence, drawing on sources from many different disciplines. The student should be able to analyze the significance of the text and establish the relationship between facts and ideas. Finally, the student must be able to justify their opinion. An argumentative essay requires more organization skills than an analysis of text. Furthermore, many texts require students to show how their opinion is in line with the entire field, much more than an argumentative essay.
Comparative and Contrast essays compare and contrast a number of texts, arguing either or against them within the specified section. Although the majority of college essays are written this way, some professors expect students to write better essays. They expect their students to be able to comprehend and read their essays, especially when they’re competing for grade points. Some teachers in colleges might see a compare-and-contrast essay as a rebuttal or argument against another’s opinions or ideas.
